Blueprint — The Geometry of Sound

Artist statement:
Blueprint
is a turntable that carries its own service manual on its body — a technical self-portrait. Printed across the deep navy chassis are authentic engineering drawings from the original service documentation of this exact model: exploded mechanism views, tonearm calibration diagrams, assembly schematics, and adjustment instructions. Technical information once meant only for repair technicians now becomes the visual identity of the device itself.

The result is a dual image of the turntable: the physical machine below, and above it a translucent layer of lines, numbers, and annotations. The mechanism and its blueprint occupy the same surface — the object and its explanation merging into one. As the platter turns, the printed diagrams appear to shift and animate, transforming the language of engineering into rhythm and motion.

Blueprint is conceived as the starting point of the Music & Light series — the plan before creation, the silent thought before sound. Service drawings that once lived inside a manual now become the turntable’s own memory, revealing the origin of its form and the geometry from which its sound was born.

The lines of light represent the first thought before sound — a silent architecture waiting to move.

Blueprint captures the essence of creation itself — the moment before sound exists, when it is still a drawing, a possibility, a pulse waiting to begin.
