Artist Statement:

Midnight explores the paradox of darkness and illumination — where black turns to white and shadow reveals light. Built around a rare dark-gray acrylic that glows when lit, the turntable transforms into a living canvas of contrast: a monochrome sculpture animated by rhythm and motion.

Along its sides, two engraved inscriptions whisper the essence of the piece:

“Feel the beat # Light the night” and “Spin the light, hear the magic.”

They serve as both poetic invitation and conceptual frame — the dialogue between rhythm and light, sound and silence.

The visual field shifts through more than a hundred light patterns, creating a meditative play between order and chaos. In daylight, Midnight stands as a sculptural object — silent and reflective. In darkness, it awakens, projecting its inner geometry outward, turning music into light and space. 

A built-in preamp and Bluetooth transmitter connect analog and digital realms, allowing the work to breathe across both. Yet at its core, Midnight remains a mechanical ritual: manual start and return, tactile control, and the physical touch of the spinning platter.

The 3D slipmat, designed as both instrument and art piece, completes the composition — a removable fragment of the sculpture itself.
