Galaxy — The Celestial Turntable

Artist Statement:
Galaxy expands the Music & Light series into a cosmic dimension — a handcrafted turntable that merges engineering, motion, and light into a single visual performance.

Its larger body provides both physical presence and space for artistic intervention: the galactic motif, applied through precision flatbed printing, shimmers under shifting illumination, evoking depth and distance.

Within the sculptural form, a silent belt drive, a cast platter, and a Micro Seiki tonearm with an Ortofon elliptical stylus preserve the tactile quality of analog sound. These technical components become part of the object’s anatomy — extensions of rhythm and rotation.

LED illumination awakens with the tonearm’s movement, tracing its path across the vinyl like an orbit.

When playback ends, the returning light signals a quiet transition — the cycle of music and motion renewed.

A hidden drawer beneath the chassis holds a spare slipmat and a 45 RPM adapter — subtle details that emphasize precision and completeness.

Galaxy is not only a turntable, but a luminous sculpture — a meditation on space, sound, and time.
This piece is built as a singular work of functional art.
